Huge news for Blair County! We are thrilled to announce that 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌&𝐓 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 has generously presented the Blair Regional YMCA with a $25,000 grant to support our transformative “Under One Roof” capital campaign! 🏛️✨
This incredible investment comes from a partner that truly shares our heart for service. The M&T Charitable Foundation strives to strengthen communities by providing support for a diverse range of civic, cultural, health, and human service organizations through grants. By supporting organizations deeply involved with arts and culture, education, health, human services, and civic affairs, they are helping us build a vibrant, resilient, and connected region.
And right now, that support is helping us completely redefine what the Y can do for you.
Our “Under One Roof” project is officially expanding the footprint of the Blair Regional YMCA on Hewitt Street to meet the rapidly growing needs of our community. In a world that often drifts toward digital isolation, we are doubling down on real-world, physical spaces where every generation can thrive.
Here is what is coming to our backyard:
🎒 The Early Learning Center Relocation: Groundbreaking takes place this August! We are bringing our state-licensed child care directly to our main campus for maximum safety and convenience.
🚀 Vertical Expansion: We are adding a brand-new second floor to a portion of the building, unlocking massive potential for expanded, multi-generational programming.
🏃♂️ The Indoor Track: A year-round, elevated walking and running track will be erected right above the gymnasium floor, giving local fitness enthusiasts a climate-controlled space to hit their goals no matter the weather.
This isn't just a construction project; it’s an active investment in our shared social responsibility to look out for one another.
