BLAIR REGIONAL YMCA offers an exciting range of land and aquatic fitness classes for the communities we serve including Hollidaysburg, Altoona, Duncansville, Blair County, PA, and surrounding areas. Whether you’re just thinking about starting a new exercise program or you’ve been an aerobics fan for years, our group exercise classes are a fun way to take charge of your physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.
Increase your strength and balance while doing yoga poses. We use the back of a chair to help ensure safety while increasing strength, flexibility, and balance. Then, we wind down with breathing and relaxation techniques. Good for all ages and fitness levels.
30-minutes of intense muscle strength and endurance work targeting abdominal muscles, hips, glutes, hamstrings, quads, and lower back.
Country-inspired cardio dance fitness class. Good for all fitness levels.
Sculpted arms, a strong core, tight glutes, and firm legs are the focus of this 30-minute muscle-toning workout. All moves are done using the stability ball and handheld weights. All fitness levels welcome.
This Max Interval Training Class features maximum-intensity exercise with short periods of rest. This high intensity activity forces the body to work for longer periods at higher capacity than traditional workouts. This workout can be modified for a lower impact.
This class features a fun, heart-pumping group fitness format integrating kettlebell weights with upbeat music. Using choreographed moves and traditional strength training, the workout engages the entire body for 45-minutes of calorie-torching fun.
This one-of-a-kind class improves strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness using high-intensity interval training with the Russian kettlebell.
One hour lifting class using bar, dumbbells, step and mat that will work the entire body. All levels welcome.
This class will challenge you with HIIT, Tabata, and boot camp workouts. There are modifications for those just getting started. (No class August 25th)
A low-impact, body-sculpting workout. You get the muscle sculpting of Pilates and the flexibility of yoga coupled with non-stop movement. (No class August 23rd & 27th)
A result-driven, full body strength training format featuring unique blocks of Work XCardio, Lower Strength, Upper Strength, and XCore. It is unlike anything else in group exercise with powerful moves that motivate participants to push their limits. This class includes modification for those just getting started. (No class September 20th)
Get your strength training workout in 30 minutes. All levels welcome.
Participants of all fitness levels welcome – you control your own intensity level. You’ll burn calories like crazy while improving your cardiovascular endurance and building strength, especially in the quadriceps, gluteus, hamstrings, and calf muscles. Please arrive 10 minutes early to set up bike and bring a towel and water bottle. Member may sign up at the front desk for class 24 hours in advance and non-members one hour in advance. If not present when class starts, your seat may be given away. If you fail to cancel twice, you may not reserve a seat for 2 months.
This is an interval class which includes a warm-up, 10 minutes of low-impact aerobics, 5 minutes of weights, 10 minutes of low-impact aerobics, 5 minutes of bands, 10 minutes of low-impact aerobics, 5 minutes with ball, stretch, cooldown, and relaxation. (Starting September 7th)
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ® ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
This class integrates traditional spin class with core, arm, and glute sculpting on and off the bike! This 45-minute class includes a half hour of spinning with 10 minutes of sculpting exercises.
An interval training class with music crafted to drive the intensity in a challenging progression that provides a total body workout. Using your own body weight, you will gain muscular endurance, tone, and definition, as well as an increased afterburn.
A gentle class that will help improve mental focus, balance, and inner harmony. This program will be taught by a certified Tai Chi instructor.
This intermediate-advanced strength training class focuses on a specific muscle group each session. If you want to see your body composition change, these muscle-specific workouts are for you!
A relaxed pace yoga class suitable for all levels from first-time student to long-time practitioner. Focus is on listening to our body and letting it decide what we are capable of for the day. No flexibility required!
A lower impact, easy to follow, Latin-inspired dance fitness party designed for the active older adult or beginner participant.
A traditional Zumba Gold class PLUS the added benefit of muscle strength and toning using weighted toning sticks or handheld weights.
Four rounds, eight exercises of a total body workout that will keep your heart rate up while working the upper and lower body muscles.

IF Hollidaysburg Area School District schools are on a delay or cancelled due to snow, inclement weather, etc., all morning land fitness classes will be canceled (including SilverSneakers ®).
In the event inclement weather begins after school hours or on a weekend, the decision to cancel a class will be the responsibility of the instructor.

Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 8:45 AM – 9:45 AM
Concentrate on cardiovascular fitness through high-intensity, low-impact exercise using water resistance in our Aqua Aerobics class. No swimming is required for this class.
Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 11 AM – 12 PM
This class features low-impact exercise incorporating therapeutic water movements to help relieve the pain and stiffness of arthritis.
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 5:15 PM – 6:15 PM
An exhilarating, low-impact exercise class suitable for every level of fitness. This class is excellent for fat burning potential. Emphasis will be on total fitness. You will build muscle strength and tone, flexibility, agility, and improve body alignment.
Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM
Exercise in the warm water pool with emphasis on flexibility, strength, and endurance.
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
This low-impact workout focuses on utilizing water resistance to improve strength and flexibility.
