BLAIR REGIONAL YMCA

YMCA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

BLAIR REGIONAL YMCA – HOLLIDAYSBURG, PA
SERVING BLAIR, BEDFORD, & HUNTINGDON COUNTIES

The BLAIR REGIONAL YMCA Financial Assistance Policy declares that no qualified individual will be denied access or participation due to the inability to pay established fees. Assistance is offered through our Scholarship Program based on the participant’s inability to pay and the YMCA’s ability to fund the subsidy.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

The Y has always offered financial assistance to those who qualify. Eligibility is determined according to federal poverty guidelines. Scholarship eligibility may also be extended to those who are financially strapped due to extenuating circumstances. For example, many in our community, especially families with children, don’t meet federal poverty guidelines, yet still can’t afford a membership due to the high cost of living.

SLIDING FEE SCALE

Guided by the principles of our Mission, we believe that a strong sense of ownership and pride is developed when a person contributes to the cost of their YMCA involvement. It is with this in mind that we recommend a sliding fee scale.

The BLAIR REGIONAL YMCA Scholarship Program provides a sliding fee scale designed for those whose gross annual income is less than $50,000. The participant’s contribution toward membership cost is based on total household income and the number of dependents in the household.

*All membership categories are subject to a $39.00 Association Fee due at the time of enrollment
