POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Please read through the below policies and procedures:

 

FEELING SICK

  • We ask you to stay home if you feel sick and refrain from entering our facilities if you have had a temperature in the last 72 hours, or believe you were exposed to the Coronavirus within the last 14 days.
  • CDC guidelines encourage vulnerable populations to stay at home

REDUCED CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Due to CDC guidelines, the Y will be operating at 50% of total capacity until further notice. At times of capacity limits, you may be asked to wait until space is available.

ENTRANCE AND EXIT YMCA, (Hewitt Street location)

  • All members, participants, visitors and staff, (with the exception of the camp participants), will enter through the main front door area. The entrance to the building will be through the handicap accessible doors on the right side.
  • All members, participants, visitors and staff, (with the exception of the camp participants) will exit through the main front door area. You will exit from the building through the doors on the right side of the lobby area.
  • The side entrance to the lobby area will be used for an emergency exit.
  • ONLY camp participants will enter and exit the doors located on the Hewitt Street side of the Y (the old entrance).

WAIVERS 

Anyone entering our facility for the first time since the shutdown of YMCA facilities, must sign an updated waiver. On your first visit back, please stop at the temperature check desk at the YMCA and Early Learning Center to complete this waiver or click here to print an electronic copy, which can be returned to the YMCA or Early Learning Center.

TEMPERATURE CHECK & WELLNESS QUESTIONS

  • All members, staff, participants and visitors will have their temperature taken daily, prior to accessing the facilities.
    • Anyone having a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be granted access to Y facilities that day but may return 24 hours later.
  • The following three wellness questions will be asked upon arrival to the YMCA, Hewitt Street, location:
  1.  Are you or anyone in your household experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, including cough, fever, loss of taste or smell, or trouble breathing?
  2. Have you been in close contact (within 6 feet for 10 minutes or more) with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
  3. Are you or anyone in your household having symptoms of respiratory illness, (fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath) or vomiting/diarrhea in the last 24 hour?
  • The Early Learning Center – Wellness questions, as deemed appropriate for that program, will be asked at the Early Learning Center.
  • Anyone answering, “Yes”, to any of the above questions will not be permitted access to Y facilities that day and will receive instructions on YMCA usage protocols.

WEAR YOUR MASK

  • Everyone over the age of three is required to wear masks when in common, member areas unless a medical condition prevents usage of a mask.
  • Masks are not required when performing strenuous exercise.
  • Children enrolled in childcare/camp programs will follow guidelines set forth by the Department of Human Resources and Early Learning Center procedures.
  • All Blair Regional YMCA, staff will be required to wear a facemask at all times and practice social distancing with the exception of on-duty lifeguards, staff working outside/with social distancing and those with medical conditions that prevents usage of a mask.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • Social Distancing should be practiced at all times while in YMCA facilities and on YMCA property. Please stay at least 6 feet apart, as much as possible and respect the personal space of others.

HANDWASHING AND SANITIZING

  • We ask that everyone entering our Y facilities wash/sanitize their hands upon entrance into buildings and regularly throughout their visit to the Y facilities to help keep themselves and others safe. Hand sanitation supplies are located throughout the facilities.
  • We ask that everyone, when using a toilet, sanitize the toilet seat and flush handle before and after use, with self-cleaning supplies provided. If using sanitizing sheets, please do not dispose of sanitizing sheets in the toilets.
  • High touch areas will be cleaned throughout the day. These include door handles, equipment, chairs, front desk counter, light switches, bathroom/locker room surfaces, and tabletops.
  • A misting fogger unit will be used periodically throughout the day to disinfect large equipment, furniture and designated areas. Various rooms/areas will be closed for short periods to fog the needed areas.  See, Fogger Schedule for the daily schedule of room closure times.
    • FOGGER SCHEDULE: Please refer to YMCA website for the fogging schedule for the areas listed below.
      • Wellness Center 11:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
      • Gym #1 11:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M.

EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE CLEANLINESS

  • Please use the cleaning material provided to wipe equipment, lockers and chairs before and after each use.
  • Protocol for cleaning will be posted in each individual area.
