Youth Sports

Skills. Character. Youth Sports.

Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football, T-Ball & More!

Did you know that basketball and volleyball were invented by early YMCA leaders?

Our sports programs develop more than skills – they develop character. We offer a variety of programs for youth and adults, including recreation and league sports. Coaches, often volunteers and including many parents, emphasize teamwork, cooperation, and developing good values.

1st & 2nd Grade Boys & Girls
3rd & 4th Grade Boys & Girls

Make athletic participation a rewarding experience. Everyone plays and everyone is a winner. Each participant will learn and develop football skills as well as leadership, sportsmanship, team play and respect for teammates, opponents, coaches and officials. A mouth-guard is mandatory.

The YMCA and the Hollidaysburg Area Youth Football Association (HAYFA) have changed the player policy. 4th grade boys who are over the weight of 70 lbs are now allowed to register for HAYFA (formerly 5th and 6th graders only).  If a family feels their 4th grade son is not ready for HAYFA and wishes to remain in the YMCA Flag Football program they may do so.  Also, 5th grade parents may elect to have their son play flag football if their son is not ready for HAYFA. Both YMCA and HAYFA reserve the right to recommend to parents to transition to either program if the player is not ready. Payment of registration fees will be reallocated to either league if the player moves after registration to avoid double payment.

HAYFA registration begins in early April. Parents with questions on this new policy are recommended to call the YMCA or contact HAYFA at
