YMCA Membership During Closure - Updated

                                                                                                                                                March 27, 2020

Dear Valued Blair Regional YMCA Member,

We hope you and your family are well as we all navigate this recent COVID -19 pandemic.  We know these are uncertain and challenging times for everyone who is a part of our Y family, as members, volunteers and staff.   The YMCA, like many individuals, businesses and other nonprofit organizations, continues to have financial obligations during this mandated shutdown period.  As we plan and prepare for your return to the Y, much work has and continues, to provide clean facilities and create a plan that provides for the continuation of quality membership, childcare and program opportunities, all previously enjoyed by you and your family.  We want you to know we are thinking of you and your families and your well-being. Taking care of one another in the community is our top priority during this uncertain and unprecedented time.

Many other YMCA and fitness centers have decided to continue to charge their members monthly membership fees while they are closed, due to COVID-19. Appreciating the difficulties everyone in our community is experiencing, the Blair Regional YMCA has decided to provide our members some options relative to ongoing membership fees below.   We appreciate your ongoing support and consideration in your decision as we navigate these uncertain times.

MARCH PAYMENTS MADE:

Option 1. Continue supporting your Y and your community. By donating the unused portion of your March 2020 membership dues, you help the Y to better support full-time staff who remain working in critical functions and enable us to meet our required overhead costs, you continue to support and add to our online information and you are engaging with and supporting our YMCA and community members.

If you choose this option, please indicate that this portion is to be used as a donation and accept our heartfelt gratitude.  Thank you.

Option 2. Online credit for unused portion of membership in the month of March

You will need to request this credit.  Due to decreased staffing during this time, your credit will processed within 15 days of the Y reopening.

Just Announced:

Benevity’s $300,000 Donation Match Campaign

To benefit the Blair Regional YMCA

*Previously known as Hollidaysburg Area YMCA

As a company who strives to “walk the talk,” Benevity just launched a public 1:1 matching campaign (up to $300,000) for donations made to the Blair Regional YMCA through their “We Are We” Giving Portal. This is their way of supporting the YMCA cause, increasing our (and our supporters’) impact, and hopefully stemming the spread of the virus that is affecting the world on a scale bigger than we could have imagined.

Benevity will match all donations made to the Y when you donate through this portal:
